Only the capital gains realized in a Non Registered Account will be taxed at 50% of the account holder’s top marginal tax rate.

Borrowing to invest doesn’t always lead to tax deductions.

For interest to actually be deductible, clients must take out loans that lead to the earning of income from a business or property. And there are other conditions: interest must be paid, or have accrued, in the year the client deducts it; there must be a legal obligation to pay back the loan; and the interest rate must be reasonable, based on market rates for debts with similar terms and credit risks.

Non Registered Account will allow individuals to build additional savings beyond the maximum amount you can invest in registered plans and can be used to save for short-term or long-term goals.

INVEST THE TAX SAVINGS

Non Registered Account are used by investors in conjunction with RRSP. This allows investors to invest tax savings generated by the RRSP into the Non Registered Account.

CAPITAL GAINS TAXED AT 50%

Capital gains realized in a Non Registered Account are taxed at 50% of the account holder’s top marginal tax rate.
